Result of the Survey by ofwgkta

Thankfully, I could have participants of more than 60 people involved in the survey. This survey wouldn't have been possible without your cooperation. Thank you.
As promised, I’d like to share the results of the survey and what I found out with you.

The age of the participants is range from 16 to 25 at max. 25% of male and 75% of female.
Relatively young generation. What’s interesting about the result especially is that most of the people are aware of the risk that nuclear power potentially possess, but they are not really sure how risky it really is, and they don’t have quite a lot of knowledge of what’s going in Japan over nuclear power.

The Fukushima accident surely planted a certain negative image in Japanese people. That said, still 35% of the participants answered “wouldn’t really care”  if a nuclear power was to be installed in your region. The result was surprising. I honestly expected 99% would answer “would protest ”.
In fact, unexpectedly 2% answered “would support”.
At this point, I thought people from young generation needed to be more informed of accurate info and facts about nuclear power and be more involved with the issue.

As for the answers for the question that I asked you at the end-ish of the survey, the answers are all true. Japan does have 42 nuclear power reactors and nuclear power did account for 32% of total electricity supply before 3.11 in japan.

I hope you guys learned a lil bit about nuclear power and gained a lil interest in the matter through the survey.

  1. Thank you for showing the result of your survey so soon. I was also shocked to know that 35% people don't really care about it. I think it is becuase we did experience the earthquake and recognised how scary it is but none of the people who lived in Tokyo or other prefecture which isn't related in Touhoku area didn't get any effect to the nuclear.

  2. I was also surprised that such a large percentage of respondents didn't really care about the nuclear issue. In the aftermath of the nuclear disaster caused by the 3/11 earthquake and tsunami, thousands of people marched in the streets of Tokyo to protest against nuclear power and to encourage the decommissioning of Japan's nuclear power plants. Actually, I joined some of those protests. Cheers, Joseph D>
